"She actually wants to study."

"Being at Columbia for the past year has been a very positive experience for my daughter. She entered at the tail end of 2nd grade because she was falling so far behind. With Columbia’s individualized curriculum, she was able to start a program that was at her level and she completed 2nd grade in December. From January to June she almost completed the 3rd grade reading program. I can’t imagine where she’d be if she was jumped up to 3rd grade last fall when she hadn’t yet mastered 2nd grade material. The great thing about Columbia is that the child moves as fast or slow as is needed so there is 100% comprehension. Her self esteem and confidence has grown leaps and bounds because all she has is success here. She actually wants to study to meet her monthly goals and is very proud of herself.

At first I was wondering if the small school would worsen her ability to deal with large groups of people, but it has had the opposite effect. She has more friends now in a classroom of 8 kids than when she was in a classroom of 27! Since her self-confidence has improved, I’ve noticed her more willing to try new things and she is more comfortable in big group settings. With the awesome, caring teachers and such a great academic system in place, I would highly recommend Columbia Academy for your child."
